Strata's Technical Requirements
This web page provides detailed information about Strata's technical requirements and compatibility.
As a general rule, Strata will run in any DAW, running on macOS or Windows, that supports one of the following plugin formats: AAX, AU, VST3. But see below for details.
Platform Quick Check
Use this table to determine whether Strata will run on your DAW.
- Supported means that it works, and, if it doesn't, I'll fix it.
- Unsupported means that it might work. You are welcome to try, and, if it doesn't work, I probably won't fix it.
- Missing means that a Strata plugin doesn't exist for this platform.
- Impossible means that the DAW doesn't run on the operating system.
- If you buy Strata, and it doesn't work, you can get a refund within 14 days.

Supported DAWs
This table lists supported DAWs and the major version numbers that are supported. For example, if V10 is listed, this means that Strata will run in V10.1, V10.2, and so on.My policy is to support the two most recent major versions of each DAW. This doesn't mean that my plugins won't work on older versions of the DAW. It just means that if you find that they don't work on an older version, I'm not going to pursue and resolve the problem.

Name: Strata Track sends its DAW track's name to Strata Vision on nearly all DAWs. However, Studio One and Reason do not provide the track name to Strata Track. To solve this problem, I have added a control panel called "Name" to Strata Track that allows you to enter the track name manually.
Colours: All DAWs can use all of Strata's built-in colour palettes to colour the tracks in the graph. However, when the user wants to automatically use the existing DAW project colours, I have been unable to extract automatically extract these colours from the project in some DAWs.
Note: Instances of Strata Vision and Strata Track communicate with each other using TCP/IP rather than shared memory. This means that Bitwig users in the Plugin settings can quarantine each instance of Strata Track and Strata Vision individually if they wish. My recommendation is to mark Strata Vision as being hosted individually, but leave Strata Track in your preferred overall hosting mode.

Note: If your DAW is listed as unsupported, it does not necessarily mean that Strata will not work on that DAW, only that Crickets Audio is not guaranteeing that it will. You are welcome to try running Strata on unsupported DAWs.

Note: Audition, Mixcraft, Cakewalk, Reason, Nuendo, SoundBridge, and Wavelab are unsupported because they each have a very small market share (niche), and Crickets Audio needs to focus on the major DAWs at the moment.

Note: The RAM typical use figure is a conservative estimate of total RAM use for one instance of Strata Vision (typically 50MB of RAM per instance) and twenty instances of Strata Track (typically 5MB of RAM per instance).
