Upgrading From Strata Prime To Strata Standard

Upgrading Strata

If you have purchased Strata Prime, which allows you to monitor up to eight tracks in your DAW project, you might wish, at some point, to upgrade to Strata Standard, which has no such restriction.

Upgrading Strata from Prime to Standard costs US$50.

This is a pure licence (and licence certificate) upgrade. Strata doesn't have separate installation or executable files for its Prime and Standard grades, so you won't have to reinstall Strata. To upgrade from Prime to Standard, all you have to do is upgrade your licence and licence certificate and install the new licence certificate:

A. On The Crickets Audio Website

1. Sign in.
2. Visit the Licences Page.
3. Find the Strata Prime Licence that you want to upgrade and click on its Inspect button.
4. There should be an Upgrade button. Click on it.
5. You should now find yourself with a Strata upgrade product in your shopping cart.
6. Checkout to pay for the Strata upgrade product.
7. When you submit your upgrade order, your existing Prime licence will be revoked and a new Standard licence will be issued.

B. Then In Strata Vision In Your DAW

1. Run Strata Vision in your DAW.
2. Click on the cog in the top right corner.
3. Click the Licence button. (It will say "Strata Is Licenced". Ignore that. That's the old Prime Licence).
4. Click the Install button.
5. Enter your Crickets Audio username and password.
6. Your new licence certificate should be downloaded and installed.
7. Quit the DAW (or delete and add Strata Vision) and reenter and you should be running Strata Standard with no eight track limitation.

The whole process should take about ten minutes.

Licence Legality Note

This process officially revokes your existing Strata Prime licence and issues you with a new Strata Standard Licence. Once your Strata Prime licence is revoked, its licence certificate will still technically work, but it is no longer legally valid. Under the terms of the user licence, you must not use or pass on to another person the Strata Prime licence certificate, as it is no longer legally valid.

Strata Upgrade FAQ

Q: Can I change the licensee of the licence when I upgrade?

A: Yes. You can change the licensee on the Checkout page.

Q: Can I change the licence quantity when I upgrade?

A: No. You have to upgrade all of the seats in the licence.

Q: Can I give my Prime licence certificate to a friend?

A: No. Once you place your upgrade order, your Strata Prime licence will be revoked, and the corresponding licence certificate is no longer legally valid.
